Deviance is defined as any act or behavior deemed a violation of norms. As you know, "norms" are not always universal. This chapter opens with a story about an anthropologist that studied the Yanomamo. They are a primitive people living in the Amazon jungle. More information about them can be acquired on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yanomami or http://indian-cultures.com/Cultures/yanomamo.html
Napoleon Chagnon studied the Yanomamo. Here's a film, albeit brief, that introduces the culture of the Yanomamo via their celebration of a feast meant to create an alliance. Really this is just a slide show. Youtube has some other video excerpts that may be of interest to you. Typically, the study of a people such as the Yanomamo is the domain of another social science, anthropology.
